Hi! can anyone help me with this suppose the actual bad debt for a business for the three previous years is 5%. If the net credit sales is 2,000,000.00 then what is the estimated bad debt expense for the next year. Please show the calculation.
Can anyone help me please? I cannot get my head around this algebra and hope that someone can help me with please?
A firm prints advertising posters. They have a set-up fee of £100 and charge 8p per poster. Explain in words how to find the total cost of printing 250 posters. Hence explain why the total cost £(C)ofprinting N posters is given by the formula
C = 100 + 0.08N. [3]
(b)
Use the formula in part (ii)(a) to calculate the cost of printing 500 posters. [2]
(c)
Rearrange the formula in part (ii)(a) to make N the subject of the equation. Explain carefully the steps in your working. [2]
(d)
Use the result of part (ii)(c) to determine how many posters you can print for £200. [2]
(e)
Another printing firm has a set-up fee of £50 and charges 16p per poster. Find a formula (similar to the one in part (ii)(a)) for P, the total price in £ when N posters are printed. [2]
(f)
Solve the equation
100 + 0.08N =50 + 0.16N.
Explain why the solution of this equation gives the number of posters for which the cost of printing is the same for both firms.
